This month we have searched high and low across the UK for three of the most unique restaurants to grab a truly gastronomic experience
Cahoots – London
Cahoots labels it’s self as a playground for London’s scoundrels. It is a super fun 1940s-themed bar located in London’s bustling Soho. It’s a speakeasy set inside an abandoned train station with three individual spaces. The Underground, Ticket Hall & Control Room, step back in time and enjoy cocktails, food and live entertainment in this quirky space
The Treehouse Restaurant – Alnwick
The Alnwick Treehouse is the largest wooden treehouse in the world built around 16 mature lime trees, which grow through and into the building. High amongst the treetops you can experience a cosy lunch or dinner, afternoon tea or maybe even just to marvel at this incredible building all by a roaring log fire surrounded by twinkling lights. This is a truly magical experience.
Gloucester Studio – Gloucester
The Gloucester Studio is a hidden rustic retreat in the Cotswolds. After visiting for his programme, Hidden Restaurants, Michel Roux Jr described it as ‘bonkers but it works’. Seated around a crackling fire, guests snuggle into reindeer skins on wooden benches, dine from wooden plates and handmade cups, and are immersed in the experience. The Gloucester Studio opens on request for truly immersive private dining experiances catered to you and your party and Katherine also runs cooking classes. For any foodies out there this experience is a must.
August’s Dreamiest Neon
This just sums up how we feel at least 50% of the time. We loved this bespoke we made and the colour is one of our faves. A true celebration of the love we have for a lazy lay in.
What’s Cooking…
Minimum effort, maximum effect. This recipe is a winner in our eyes. A crowd pleaser packed with flavour and it only takes 15 minutes to prepare. For a slightly less rich Bolognese try adding another tin of tomatoes. Delicious

Fosse Verdon
Fosse/Verdon tells the story of the romantic and creative partnership between Bob Fosse, played by Sam Rockwell and Gwen Verdon, played by Michelle Williams. Fosse was a filmmaker and one of theater’s most influential choreographers and directors with the likes of Chicago and Caberet in his portfolio Bob Fosse was a visionary filmmaker and one of the theater’s most influential choreographers and directors. His wife Gwen was the greatest Broadway dancer of all time, she was a critically acclaimed actress and Broadway dancer who won 4 Tony Awards.
The costumes, the sets, the dancing are a treat for the eyes and the story is gripping. Watch it on BBC iplayer
This Month’s Must…
Matt Barnett – Why a good book is a secret door
This is an oldie but a real goodie. I first heard this over 7 years ago and it is still as enjoyable and relevant today as it was then. The perfect way to spend a spare 17 minutes of your time. It’s insightful, it’s beautifully put together and very very funny. Matt Barnett discusses the importance of reading, particularly in children and how he strives to make it and creative writing as enjoyable and engaging as possible. Have a Listen here.
