Just a quick post to tell you about some wonderful local businesses that are all exhibiting at Decorative Living Fair today and tomorrow. Well worth a look to see some truly beautiful displays of vintage paraphenelia and stuff porn.
Let’s start with The Old Haberdashery. Sonia has a most beautiful shop in Ticehurst, and her display skills are, in my humble opinion, the best in the business. Her shop windows leave me drooling. Plus her shop is practically next door to The Bell Apparently, a super cool interiors pub (with an awesome neon, see ours here) with amazing food to boot. Worth a trip anyday.
I brought a beautiful oil flower painting, to add to my growing collection from Sonia, and I love it!
I managed to resist buying this one…but regret it now…it’s either from from Erna Hiscock, who specialises in Antique Samplers plus lots of other bloody lovely stuff. Or Weathered and worn, who are based locally in Hadlow…there was just so much amazing stuff everywhere, its hard to remember whose stall was whose!
Goose Home and Garden is owned by Sarah, who is another lovely lady I know who has a GREAT eye and is also impossibly talented at displaying stuff so that you literally WANT IT ALL! Check this beautiful oil painting on beautiful blue shutters to make your heart sing.
Tara Franklin Antiques has a great eye and sells lovely old French pieces like this mirror and I loved this collection of natural dyes.
I also treated myself to this pretty pink flappers dress and flower hairband from Etoile Brocante.
Lastly I ummed and ahhh’d over these pink chairs from Nikki Paige Antiques…I mean how adorable!
My last purchase was from Heavy Petal. I loved these succulents in old handbags…I have wanted to do this for ages, but not found the time!!! So invested in these from Anthea who you can reach by email ladybellamy@hotmail.co.uk
So, do go along and support these amazing women and small local businesses. Together we are stronger. Together we build.
